Walk in My Shoes

On Friday 10th of October, it was World Mental Health Day. To celebrate this important day, we had a dress-up day entitled 'Walk in My Shoes'. With that, we had the opportunity to wear "funky" or "mis-matched" shoes.                                                                                                    This event, that is celebrated all over Ireland, helps raise awareness of mental health in our communities. The money our school raised was then donated to St Patrick's Helpline, which offers people advice and someone to talk to if they do have any issues.

All the students in the school were fully supportive about the event and brought in the €2 which was donated. They saw it as a way of educating themselves about an important issue in the world today

I think it's a fantastic thing that we, as a school, are raising awareness for such an important cause, that affects so many people worldwide. It gives people who, do suffer from mental health issues, the confidence to get help and encourages them to talk to someone if they are having problems.
